Sure we've got a big fancy camera which is our main work horse. But sometimes you need a little something extra. In comes the GoPro HD Hero. This little camera goes places we wouldn't dare bring our trusty fancy cams.
Need a shot of a 1,000lbs pumpkin being hollowed out from inside the giant gourd? Done.
Want a POV shot of someone paddling said behemoth squash out into a lake in front of 10,000 people?(Video coming soon) The GoPro can get you both of those shots before it even has breakfast, which usually consists of hours of my patience rendering the video in Edius...
Though this little miracle of a camera is very useful there are a few "flaws".
1) There is no viewfinder
2) The LCD screen that lets you know the camera is on, is on the front of the camera.
What does this all mean? Simple really.
When the operator of the GoPro inevitably turns the device on and hits record, the first shots are almost always the operators face. This hilarious quirk of the camera has lead to quite a few interesting, embarrassing, hilarious, or down right awkward shots of people staring at the camera.
So if you made it this far you may be asking yourself one thing and that is probably "Where is this going?"
Well, it's going here. I've created a new blog to post funny, awkward, embarrassing, awesome, scary.... basically any face that appears to either turn the camera on, or off, or stare at it in wonder. This will obviously be a boring project if it's just me so I'm looking to other people to submit their photos and I'll post them up(with or without credit).
In case you missed the link before the site is at www.goprofaces.blogspot.com
